Young Designers To Watch Out For This Season!

The designers across all four major Fashion Weeks around the world – Paris, Milan, London and New York, came up with very creative, refreshing and inspiring collections. From Simone Rocha’s love affair with frills and floral appliqué in the LFW, to the NYC duo Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne’s collection that came up with exceedingly cool minimal clothes, there are numerous designers that caught our attention. But we’ll focus on the top 4 who made their mark –

Public School-  This label is by designers Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow, both of whom are true blue New Yorkers. Their collection stood out because of the laid back appearances of their silhouettes, which had oodles of sophistication dripping from them. Their collection is a must for those people who believe in dressing properly, but not stiffly; fluidity at its best! Their talent and passion for aesthetics has been appreciated via numerous accolades, including the prestigious 2013 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Award and the CFDA Swarovski Award for Menswear.

Andrea Incontri– This designer’s USP is his clean minimalist designs and structural styles, which is why it might not come as much of a surprise to his ardent followers that the creative designer studied architecture before delving into the world of fashion. His collection at Milan focused a lot on clothing, and the heavy Italian influence on his tailoring and production of clothes was inescapable. He’s been around since 2009 in the world of fashion, and has since then experimented with both men’s and women’s wear. His Milan collection seemed to be fixated with airy minimalism, and it was proof of the growing up of the designer’s aesthetics where his collection was more elegant than his previous ones; he stuck to classic artisan-ship yet managed to showcase modernity via his designs.

Simone Rocham- Now she’s a designer whose designs have always been at the whimsical end of the spectrum; she loves creating drama through her designs and her label called Ready-to-Wear has become exceedingly popular among editors of several fashion magazines and blogs. Her expert skill with textiles can easily be seen through her ultra feminine designs, which comprise greatly of floral embellishments and laces. She’s also received quite a few awards for her great sense of fashion – last year itself she won the Young Designer of the Year at The Harper’s Women of the Year Awards AND the British Fashion Award for New Establishment Designer!

Miriam Baker- Baker was the winner at Toronto Fashion Incubator’s 2014 New Labels, and she’s created waves at the Canadian fashion industry. Her feminine designs are inspired by history, yet they’re a perfect fit for the woman of today. You can find any and everything in her collections, ranging straight from Kentucky Derbies to chic body hugging silhouettes. But the best part is that her collections are available for women who don’t have figures like supermodels! Her only aim is to make women feel more comfortable in their bodies, and we must agree that she’s doing a great job of it.
