Styles From The Street

So when we talk about spring/ summer 2015 fashion trends, we don’t mean the not so wearable ones from the catwalk; you know those outrageous Lady Gaga from 2012 clothes. So fashion, everyday fashion, wearable fashion comes from street styles and ensembles you see on people every day, who so effortlessly wear and mix and match certain trends. There is absolutely no harm in stealing ideas from people you see. How else do you think they did it?

Here are some of the easy styles any one can pull off-

Layering- Remember a time when the world was ok without layering? We neither. Layering has and will always continue to be a trend. With denim so much in focus, pick out a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans and layer them with a slip dress which is either knee length or slightly below. Opt for stilettos and a big tote and you are good to go. Layering can be done in many ways whether it is the skirt on dress trend, or whether it is the more subtle way of wearing a long cape/ shrug on a skirt-shirt-block heels ensemble.

Pretty and Dark- With floral being so in right now, wear a pretty floral dress with a short jacket or pair a floral skirt with a neutral tones blouse and a leather jacket. Boots will look the best with this look along with a black sling bag. Patchwork boots can be an option as well. The floral print has to be big eye catching flowers to make an impact. Minimal accessories are the way to go.

S/S (Sheer & Suede) – Since 2015 has proved itself to be a year of mixing and matching various fabrics, how about wearing a slightly over-sized white shirt (with balloon/ bell sleeves) in sheer with a brown/ tan coloured suede skirt? Tan boots and a tan tote will go amazingly well with this combination and we so no reason why it shouldn’t work in office too.

Boho- With 70’s making a big comeback, boho has become synonymous with everything fringe. A fringed skirt with a white shirt or a pair of jeans with a well fitting top and a fringed jacket or pairing an ensemble with fringed boots or just even carrying a fringed messenger bag and wearing mismatched feather earrings; these are all the looks which were popular nearly three decades ago and 2015 is proving to be no different.

Shorts- High waisted shorts have replaced hot pants and short skirts, everywhere. High waisted shorts in white lace can be worn with block heels or flat gladiators with a with a nice pop coloured blouse and a sling bag. High waisted shorts in darker colours can be worn with a graphic t shirt, a dark coloured cape/ shrug along with sneaker platforms, possibly embellished with studs.

Just go with the flow because fashion is all about how comfortable you are and what you are the most confident in! All these trends have been done before and chances are you would have been a part of at least some of them. Dg out your old photos, remove the old clothes from the storage and wear them (after toning down the eccentricities of your younger years though).
