The one fabric that has been the personification of delicate, tender, sensual and innocently sexy is lace. Romanticizing clothes has been its biggest plus point till date and it is no wonder that it still used in wedding attire. Its combination along with net creates whimsical pieces which are hard to take eyes off from.
Dresses- Lace doesn’t always have to be white or baby pink. Dark lace looks just as sexy as the demure pastel shades. A red lace dress on the other hand, with a pair of black spiky heels makes you look like the red siren, that femme fatale. If you are not too much into bright colours then opt for the white lace dresses available which make you look just as hot if accessorized right.
Accessories- Not everyone is always comfortable wearing complete lace outfits. For such fashionistas who love following the trends but will not be caught dead following it blindly, we always get the accessories versions of the ongoing trend too. Pair a dress in the day with lace kitten heels or flats. You can also wear lace fedoras for those extremely sunny days- style and protection in one trendy way.
Indian Circuit- With summers in our tropical country getting hotel every year, it is no wonder that the designers make sure that the outfits they showcase embody the summer feeling. During our own fashion weeks, lace and net was used in abundance. Whether it was to highlight some graphic print or as a base for embroidery, it was seen peeking out at us from here and there.
Last minute outfits- If you are a true fashionista then you have gone through the ‘I have nothing to wear’ phase at least once a week. Here is when lace helps you and comes to your rescue with ideas for last minute outfits. Going for a meeting and the client has seen practically all of your suits? Then wear a lace body suit with a well fitted blazer and pants. Going for lunch and just have that black lace pencil skirt? Wear it for lunch and not dinner and see the difference. Instead of pairing it with something formal wear it with a striped t-shirt and block heels. Want to get into layering? Layer a black lace slip dress underneath a shorter t shirt dress and pair it with a big clutch and block heels
Lace and net if not done right can make you look like those vintage doilies and not in a good way. Lace can look pretty in any form and when worn anywhere and anytime but it can start looking too over the top too. So wear it right and don’t wear too much of it and you will be fine to rock this look and take it from dreamy to rock chic.
