For decades, supermodels have been the most recognized, most photographed and most talked about women on the planet. We have all seen them on the runway, admired their beauty, and followed their guidance on the new trends in fashion. These women have set the ramps on fire with their walk and have been featured in almost every fashion magazine regularly. Now, there is a new face to these lovely women.
Here are some fluid women, who have gone from being supermodels to successful entrepreneurs.
Heidi Klum: Executive Producer, Project Runway
A former German-American model, TV producer and fashion designer, Heidi Klum was the first German to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel. After reaching a super-celebrity status, Klum started exploring her executive side and achieved instant success.
In 2004, she started her business endeavor as an executive producer, judge and host of the famous reality TV series, Project Runway. The idea of portraying new fashion styles to the industry brought success to the show which went on to win the prestigious Emmy Award.
Besides the TV show, Klum has her own line of clothing, shoes, swimsuit, make up, fragrances and jewelry.
Tyra Banks: CEO, Bankable Productions
The first African-American to have ever featured in the GQ magazine, Tyra Banks is one of the greatest supermodels of all time. Her modelling career has won her many accolades along with fame. However, her career took a huge leap when she co-produced the famous reality TV series, America’s Next Top Model.
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel opened her own production house, The Bankable Productions, formerly known as Ty-Ty Baby Productions. Some of the other shows she hosted and produced were The FAB Life and Stylista, promoting new trends in fashion. Her production company has also worked alongside Warner Bros. for a brief spell.
Tyra is an occasional singer and has featured in many Michael Jackson videos. She also happens to be a writer who has authored the NY best seller novel Modelland.
Elle Macpherson: Executive Producer, Britain’s Next Top Model
Elle is a former lingerie model of Australian origin, famously nicknamed as ‘The Body’, by the Time Magazine. Her record five-time appearance on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue makes her one of the most legendary supermodels of all time.
After her years of showcasing latest fashion trends, walking on ramps, photo-shoots and brand advertising, she made the transition into the corporate world, as an executive producer of Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model and NBC’s Fashion Star.
In 1994, Macpherson opened her own company called Elle Macpherson Inc. and in 2014 she also became one of the co-founders of the nutrition based products company, WelleCo. Elle now handles the product development, brand positioning and sales strategies for nutritional products promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Miranda Kerr: Founder, Kora Organics
The beautiful Australian Model Miranda Kerr is a young fashion icon who is pursuing her modelling and business aspirations together.
The Former Victoria’s Secret Angel has modelled for surf chains like Billabong, Tiger Lily and many others. She has always been the face of all the new trends in fashion and continues to be one of the youngest and most successful models.

The Brazilian Super Model is one of the most experienced and successful Victoria’s Secret Angels. Her 20 years of experience in the industry has provided her a great foundation to start a venture. She launched her own line of trendy clothes based on her ‘forever on vacation’ lifestyle through her own setup, Ale by Alessandra.
Ale’s products are now widely available across the biggest US Stores like Blooming Dales, Planet Blue and NordStrom among others.
