Let us face it- we hate it when our work week begins. Whether it begins on a Monday, Sunday or a Wednesday, the next day blue comes too early for our liking. The fact that world around you hates these days as well, does not help the situation. Honestly, none of us like to get two hours before our alarm goes off and look for what to wear to yet another work day with gusto and cheery spirits. But you can look forward to the start of your work week with a slight mix and match o your clothes, which look put together so casually that the onlookers wonder, where did you get your sense of style?
Office wear and business suits are not just about purchasing the pinstriped jacket with matching trousers or skirts. Liven up your day with a little colour, different style and a totally opposite combination. Think androgyny and feminine elements; bold dark colours with softer shades.
Pastel Shades
Think powder blue, blush pink, peach, light green, soft khaki coloured blazers. Now pair them with beige trousers and a white top and a delicate neck-piece. Opt for nude heels and a leather bag and you are all set. Not comfortable with everything being on the light side? Then pair the soft coloured blazer with navy trousers or pinstriped pants in soft grey and wear a striped top or blouse underneath the blazer. Black pumps coordinate well with these outfits. Jeans pair well with soft blazers as well.
Colour Blocking
Not necessarily black on black or grey on grey, instead opt for a black blazer with upturned cuffs, black and white striped blouse and dark grey pants. You can also wear a single button brown blazer with khaki pants and leopard printed top. The key here is to bring out the element via the top but keeping the look subtle with the colours of the bottom and the blazer. A powder blue jacket pairs well with navy trousers as does a light green jacket with a darker hued bottom from the same family.
Distant Family
A light orange blazer pairs well with a navy blue skirts as does a soft khaki with brown pants. Tell the top underneath the blazer be subtle and neutral coloured to tone down the colour effect of the bottom and the jacket. For a more casual approach, opt for denim trousers or dark jeans. Wear a blue blazer with black pants for a little more power dressing. Keep the accessories dainty and opt for pumps.
Oriental Style
As we know, oriental style is in vogue. Long jackets with obi belts and kimono styled blazers, look different and extremely chic. Opt for a floral printed short oriental styled jacket with dark floral print and pair it with black wide legged trousers and black shoes. These jackets bring out the fun element in work wear and look professional as well. If you are not comfortable wearing this style of jackets, then wear a robe type long jacket over the formal dress and remove it once in the office.
So look forward to those Mondays and Wednesdays. Fight the weekday blues with colour and awesome combinations. We guarantee you will be skipping to work and the sun will be shining and the birds will be chirping and everything will be just right with the world including your morning coffee being just perfect and you not burning your toast; though we cannot guarantee if you will wake up before your alarm goes off.
