From flaunting trendy clothes on the ramp to featuring in glossy ad campaigns, modelling has always been viewed as glamorous. Among the more starry-eyed, modelling is also seen as a stepping stone to a career in acting. And we have plenty of evidence in our very own B-town to substantiate that line of thought! Let us take a look at some faces that made the successful leap from modelling to acting:

She shot to fame when Kingfisher named her ‘model of the year’ and featured her as the cover girl on the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar in 2006. Her effortless way of carrying off hot fashion trends led to several endorsement deals. She began her acting career with Aishwarya, a Kannada movie, followed by Om Shanti Om. Today she is one of the top reigning actors in Bollywood, consistently churning out hit after hit and featuring regularly in fashion blogs.
