MissMalini At The Liva Studio

Last month Team MissMalini had a fun little outing. Can you guess what we did? Shopped, duh! We tagged along with MissMalini and had a fun day out at the LIVA studio. We wanted to find out what made our favourite retail brands’ summer collections so light and breezy. Apparently, it’s all about the fabric. So, we went straight to the source.

We’ve been hearing about and seeing LIVA for a while now, and when we finally got to the studio, we got the complete lowdown on this amazing fabric. For starters, it’s completely natural and 100 percent bio-degradable, it allows your skin to breathe, and the best part is that it’s completely fluid. It’s also lightweight and it moves, when you move. Also, while perusing the entire collection to pick some that MMloves, we noticed a few trends. This fabric can be moulded to fit different trends and styles, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Aside from everyday wear, the trends we spotted spanned from monochrome and summer prints, to travel chic, indie and of course bohemian.

So after revamping my closet with a mega shopping haul, designer Narendra Kumar a.k.a Nari played a fun sketching game with me. I got him to design an outfit each for your favourite celebrities and for his finale challenge, I asked him to sketch an outfit for me!

And lo and behold a couple days later the dress shows up at my desk! Nari created an outfit with the Liva fabric that had fun ruffles and a sexy low back but my stylist decided we should go all Sex And The City with it and threw on a short blazer and a tan belt. A look I’ve been wanting to try. The best part, while the fabric of the blazer was a little more stiff and coarse the Liva fabric beneath was super soft and comfy.
