Autumn – Winter 2015 Fashion Trends
Winter’s going to soon be upon us, and that means a new excuse to go shopping. Why? Because with winter will come the Autumn Winter trends (2015), and this year is going to bring up quite a few wonderful trends to the fore. Some trends will be those that haven’t yet been seen, while the others will be so familiar that you’ll have to dig deep into your wardrobe to bring out those clothes and accessories of yours. So without creating any more suspense, here are the AW15 fashion trends for this year which will make a splash this season –
Pleats will make a comeback
Remember when we used to go to school and wear pleated uniforms? Those pleats might bring back bitter sweet memories but this year, it is pleats that are going to make huge waves. And we aren’t talking about the boring variety – from carwash and knife, to fan to box – pleats stood out at every international fashion runway. The most prominent labels to feature them included Marco de Vincenz, Guy Laroche & Balmain and Kenzo.
Statement Belts
If you’ve got big, chunky belts lying around somewhere in your wardrobe, then now is the time to bring them out. The bigger and bolder your belts, the better it will be! These belts have to be cinched at your waist and their main aim is to draw attention to that area. Of course this trend is best suited for those ladies with hourglass figures. But if you have the confidence to flaunt off a busty chest or big hips, then go ahead with it!
You can play with color contrasts, opt for the classic color black or even go for gold and silver belts if you want to wear them to a night time event.
Capes are going to be in!
Now, this is not an A15 trend for the streets – its best left for places like clubs or high profile parties. But when you do wear them, we guarantee you’ll be making a lot of heads turn around in your direction. Valentino’s collection stood out because of his unique interpretation, but it was Michael Kors’ design which came up with the most usable options for capes. They are an excellent alternative to coats and are perfect to wear in the months of October and November.
Statement Shoes
Remember how Lady GaGa’s outlandish shoes caught the fancy of the world a few years ago? Well it looks like the catwalk took heavy inspiration from her collection and came up with an extremely wide (and weird) variety of footwear, including – pink pompons on silver sandals and crystal-covered heel-less heels. Of course, for people like us, shoes in bold designs, colours and prints would work just as well. For those who are willing to experiment, this article has some interesting heel options for you
